HASC, a premier special education school, is looking for a part-time Music Teacher to treat students in our Early Learning Program in Woodmere. Experience with special education experience population is a plus.
Responsibilities include:
1. Preparation and adaptation of materials and instruction to meet and reinforce and goals of every student.
2. Support the language based philosophy of the school environment and the curriculum of each classroom.
3. Provide instruction to each class according to a predetermined schedule.
4. Consult with therapeutic and classroom team members regarding instructional and behavioral management issues as needed.
5. Maintain anecdotal and skill related notes regarding student’s participation and reactions to music therapy program by class grouping.
6. Supervise field work students from regional music therapy degree programs.

Requirements include a: – Appropriate NYS license/certification.
